GOTG: Kevin Feige Gives Up The Goods On Character Details
Marvel Studios President, Kevin Feige, has given up quite a bit of detail to Empire Magazine in his interview this month. Check out what he has to say;
"They are an unlikely band. It's pure circumstance that brings them all together throughout the course of the movie. Rocket has been genetically and mechanically altered, he's an experiment from one part of the galaxy. Groot is a species that happens to look like trees look, and is quite communicative if you can understand the different inflections in the way he says, "I am Groot." Peter Quill left Earth in the mid'80s, but when we meet back up with him he's very much a citizen of the universe. Drax has one goal and one goal only, which is to kill Ronan because of a past tragedy. When we meet Gamora, she's a bad guy working with Ronan and Nebula and Korath, and by extension for Thanos. Gamora doesn't necessarily like doing that anymore, and tries to find a new path for herself. But she has a reputation as the deadliest woman in the galaxy that people aren't greeting her with open arms."
Wow. That is more info than anyone has given up thus far. But, it's also basically the exact same character details as in the comics....so not really anything shocking.
When asked whether Guardians of the Galaxy takes place at the same time as marvel's other "Phase 2" movies, Kevin Feige had this to say, "The general answer is yes. It's not exactly revealed what year or month it is in relation to the other Phase Two films. But yes, it's the same time." So, while it may take place at the same time, just how connected will it be to the "Phase 2" films? "Certainly more than the others. We've already said that Thanos plays a part in it and is a character in it. That in and of itself should tell you it's connected to the other worlds." Talking of Thanos, many fans expected the Mad Titan to be the main villain in the sequel to The Avengers, but it was recently confirmed that it will be Ultron who fills that role. So, will he be the main foe in Guardians of the Galaxy? Not quite! "Ronan The Accuser is very much the main bad guy. And Thanos is lurking above it all. You will learn more about Thanos in Guardians, for sure. Certainly you'll get more than the one turn around and smirk. You'll get much more than that!"

Is Bradley Cooper Voicing Rocket Raccoon In Marvel's GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY?
Maybe. As in "el mayimbe." Yes, Latino Review is back again with it's
I call bullshit. Bullshit on the whole thing! El Mayimbe should be run out of town for the amount of "inside scoops" and "exclusives" that wind up being proved incorrect. Remember when he reported "exclusively" that Conan star, Jason Momoa, was going to be cast as Drax? See how that turned out?! He needs to just stop.
Not that I would mind Bradley Cooper as the voice of Rocket. I think he would be excellent, even though I prefer Rocket with his cockney accent. I would also prefer Cooper for a larger Marvel Universe role...say as Hank Pym, aka Ant-Man!

Zero Percent Chance Of GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY Comic-Con Footage Being Released
When asked what the odds are of the critically acclaimed Guardians of the Galaxy Comic-Con footage being officially released by Marvel/Disney, Director James Gunn replied, " Zero precent chance, sorry! I know a lot of you have seen the shaky camera footage, but it was made after 12 days of shooting and isn't a true reflection of the awesomeness we're trying to create for you."
BOOOOOO! This is absolute crap. If it doesn't represent the movie you are trying to create, then why show it at all at Comic-Con and D23 Expo?! I am now on a mission to hunt down someone who cammed the entire presentation. I WILL see this complete footage.
If you haven't seen the 30 second shaky came, here it is:
And here is a snippet regarding Rocket Raccoon:
And here is a snippet featuring more Star-Lord:

Vin Diesel Voicing Groot in GOTG
The new rumor is that Vin Diesel "confirmed" he was voicing Groot in Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy movie. This apparent confirmation was due to the fact the he changed his facebook cover image to this,
Bob...oh wonderful Bob!
And just in case you were under a rock and missed the leaked Comic-Con footage...visit my earlier post here: GoTG Leaked Footage
which is an early iteration of the tree-like alien from the Guardian of the Galaxy comic books. It was put up without a caption and without fanfair. Then the interweb fanboys lost their minds and started posting that Vin Diesel WAS voicing Groot. Here's hoping its true. I liked his work on Iron Giant. His voice is gravely and perfect for Groot. And depending on which Groot version they go with, he may only say three key words, "I am Groot." (and earlier comic version of Groot had him jabbering quite a lot)
Geez, this gets me right in the feels.
Plus, if this rumor turns out to be true...we can put to death that horrible rumor about him portraying Vision in Avengers 2. I would absolutely hate that.
Now if only we can get some rumor info on who is voicing Rocket Raccoon. Gawd, I wish Bob Hoskins was not retired from show business. He would be my ideal choice for Rocket Raccoon. I really hope they get a cockney to voice him. It's the only way to go, in my book.
Bob...oh wonderful Bob!

Updated with HD and another clip: GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY leaked Comic-Con footage
Holy crap ya'all! FINALLY some Comic-Con leaked footage has appeared online for Marvel's Guardian's Of The Galaxy. It's grainy and all (it IS a secret cam after all), but you can definitely get the idea of what director Gunn is trying to portray. Peter Quill (Chris Pratt) looks sexy as f###, Rocket and Groot look bad ass, Dave Bautista looks menacing as Drax the Destroyer, and Gamora (Zoey Saldana) looks...green. I knew she would obviously be green. I love her comic character, but the green just looks so fake to me. Hopefully this gets fixed up a bit before the movie is out. Gamora look like she is laying down the hurt though! I cannot be anymore excited for this movie. I can't wait for an actual legal trailer to be released. But until then, feast your eyes on this....
Now in HD Cam!
